BIG Day of Giving May 4 ~ 2017
THURSDAY, MAY 4 ~ 24 HRS. OF GIVING!!!
Help us continue to impact the lives of our girls…
Sisters of Nia, Inc. is again part of the BIG Day of Giving – our region’s giving challenge where, over a 24 hour period from midnight to midnight, we will join hundreds of other nonprofits to make our region #1 as the most generous community in the country on this national day of giving!
Special thanks to the Sacramento Food Bank for supporting Sisters of Nia!
After the Pre-Kwanzaa Celebration, the girls were able to meet Mama Oyin, a long-time supporter of Sisters of Nia. Mama Oyin wrote the Nguzo Nane chant that has become a tradition for all our Nia girls to learn. It was great having her there to see them perform her creation. The girls fell in love with her, and we look forward to seeing Mama Oyin and the girls interact more often.
We had a GREAT time at our Nia Board of Directors & Facilitators holiday paint party!!! We enjoyed spending time together while expressing our creativity…and we LOVE our paintings! Well, most of us do, lol! Big THANK YOU to Farleen O. for being a great instructor! She made us all feel good about our creations. Our Nia Board of Directors is a great team and we work very well together…I’m looking forward to what comes our way in 2017!
